Punk Goes… is a series of compilation albums released by Fearless Records in which various punk and pop-punk bands perform punk-style covers of famous songs from other genres or time-periods. The one deviation from this theme is on Punk Goes Acoustic and Punk Goes Acoustic 2 in which punk rock bands recorded acoustic versions of their own songs rather than punk rock versions of other band’s songs.

I am a big fan of Punk.. and when i say big… I mean it.. lolx.. and just hearing some songs in the Compilation makes you always sing your woah woah woah’s and oi oi oi!…

Though the letdown in some of the albums in the Compilation is that some bands are not really “PUNK”.. instead, they fall under the Emo/Post Hardcore Genre..

Here’s the list of the Compilation part of the Punk Goes… with release dates… eheh

* Punk Goes Metal (August 1, 2000)
* Punk Goes Pop (April 3, 2002)
* Punk Goes Acoustic (October 21, 2003)
* Punk Goes 80’s (June 7, 2005)
* Punk Goes ’90s (May 9, 2006)
* Punk Goes Acoustic 2 (May 8, 2007)

well.. one of my favorites is The Ataris version of I Remember You in Punk Goes Metal. (Originally done by Skid Row). The song kicks ass!… so as The Ataris..

I already have a copy of the Punk Goes Acoustic 1.. with artists like Finch, Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, Thursday and many others.. and Im simply LOVING IT!

will be downloading the other albums… soon.. :P
