Tuesday’s devastating earthquake (Jan. 12 2010) in Haiti has brought an outpouring of sympathy and support from around the world. A frightening new aftershock Wednesday (January 20, 2010) forced more earthquake survivors onto the capital’s streets to live and sent others fleeing to the countryside. Aid was only beginning reach wrecked towns and earthquake victims of Haiti.
Now is our time to make a move; make a mark. A number of organizations has given their help. Google has donated $1 million for the victims. NBA Superstar is also making a move to have the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest and proceeds will go to Haiti victims. Let us help Haiti now. Let is help our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
Here is how you can help. Below are links to three organizations that have been featured most prominently in media reports this week. They are the American Red Cross, United Way International, and Clinton Bush Haiti Fund:
If you are considering making a personal donation, multiple organizations will accept donations, but please be wary of scams which may result in personal identity theft. Please beware of unsolicited appeals, and do not give your personal or financial information to anyone who solicits contributions.
Your prayers for the people of Haiti may help too.
