Friendster Blogs now on WORDPRESS? Was just checking on my mail when I hovered through a mail in my Spam stating that Friendster blogs are now placed on a new platform, so I had to check it out, and at first glance, my blog really looks like a WordPress blog with the defaul theme on it. Anybody who has friendster blogs? Can you justify that the blog platform is indeed Wordpress?
My first blog existed in Friendster but I have to leave it cause I had difficulties with the platform they are using. The platform was just too lame, I had to let my dog do the “friendster blogging” for me. Friendster was using Typepad as their blog platform before, and honestly, I should say that Typepad Sucks big time! You don’t have to agree with me or anything but I just simply hate the platform. So now that friendster has switched to Worpress, it’s a good news for us who has come to love Wordpress and its power (LMAO).
The main problem now is with the Friendster Bloggers who has come to love Typepad and its lameness. If any of you have any problem with the new Wordpress Friendster platform, you can alwaays drop a line here, I will be glad to help you with any problems.
For the past years, this has been the best move of Friendster so far, having WORDPRESS as the Friendster blog platform! Friendster Blog 2.0 powered by Wordpress.
P.S. I think I stayed in a cave for some time as when I checked Google SERPS for the news about Wordpress on Friendster, everybody has been talking about it. ;(
Looking for a new Webhost
After having some problems with the bandwidth usage that I had a while back that ballooned to 400GB, I am currently searching for a new webhosting company to handle my site. I was not certain as to how the bandwidth grew that big for only a span of 8 days but I now have a slight idea. While looking a new webhosting company, I stumbled upon this site which showed the Best Web Hosts for 2008. What caught my attention was that, most of the top Web Host offers Unlimited Traffic and that alone is music to my ears. For web newbies also looking for good web hosts, you can also try to read some of their articles for a guide in looking for a new web host. For me, I still have to think on how I’m going to pay my remaining dues with my current Web Hosting Company.
Alexa Rank Jump
Phew! I have had constant traffic on this site that the Alexa Rank has improved from 2,000,000+ to 800,00 [check the Alexa Badge on the right sidebar]. For the first time, I can now see progress on the Alexa Graph for my site. I have been getting constant traffic from my posts about Arnel Pineda, Pacquiao-Diaz bout, July 18 Earthquake Prediction, Michael Phelps, FHM Philippines Top 100, The Swimming Cat and Becoming a YouTube Star. More articles for everybody to read, more traffic for me, it’s that simple. I will try me very best to keep this site updated for everybody.
Now, back to work! xD
Building a new THEME [UPDATE]
I have finalized and submitted the wordpress theme I have created and I am just waiting for the confirmation if it was approved.
Your new theme, GreyMonger Theme, has been added to the directory and is pending a review. Once your theme has been reviewed and approved it will be available for download from the directory. You will receive an email notifying you when this happens.
As of now, I am just waiting for the confirmation mail that the theme is already available for the public. Before Wordpress will make it available to the public they will be taking it for a test drive and I will just get another email from them after that.
UPDATE:
I just received an email from Wordpress containing some of the fixes needed. Here are the 2 most important fixes needed:
- Shows post categories, but not post tags
- Doesn’t support Gravatars

Building a new theme
I have been busy for the past 5 days as I am building a new Wordpress theme from scratch. It was supposed to be finished 2 days ago but a very unfortunate event happened, I overwritten my stylesheet.css without a backup. So I had to rebuild everything all over from scratch.
I will be posting the link once I finalize the design and test everything before uploading to wordpress. Hope everything will go smoothly as planned [and I hope I will not be able to overwrite my existing stylesheet.. LOL].

Michael Phelps will receive 1 year supply of Pizza
After winning 8 Gold Medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, swimming machine Michael Phelps, and the rest of the U.S. men and women swim team, will receive free pizza and pasta for a year from Pizza Hut. That’s a lot of pizza and pasta for all of them but the investment for the sponsorship could very well payoff as Phelps has been a household name worldwide after winning 8 Golds in the Olympics. Aside from Pizza Hut, a lot of companies have contacted Phelps for a tie-up. Even before the Olympics, Phelps have been earning an annual income of $5 million from corporate endorsements from companies like AT&T, Visa, PowerBar, Omega and Speedo. Now that he has won 8 Gold Medals, breaking the 36-year old record set by Mark Spitz, many companies could now be far more interested in the swimming machine Michael Phelps. Speedo has already paid him a $1 million bonus for breaking Spitz’s record.
Swimmers don’t usually get that much attention and they are not even household names. Swimming is not something that you watch on primetime TV, you only get to watch this on sporting events such as the Olympics which only happens every 4 years. Phelp’s has change the way everybody looks at the game and he has raised the bar not just for swimmers but for every athletes.
Now there are even more rumors of Phelps and Spitz to appear in joint appearances and endorsement deals (and this is a biggie). For now, all that Michael Phelps has to do is to savor everything while it lasts. One thing is sure though, Michael Phelps is leaving Beijing as a sports icon.
